Who is Mrs Thing? Well she is anyone who might otherwise be described as 'a reluctant organist', roped in by a desperate cleric to play for the services in the local church, perhaps because of her reputation that she can play the piano. In any event, her skills at the organ are modest and she is always looking for pieces to play as voluntaries which she can manage and which sound convincing.
